The arcade brawler brought home: fight your way along five floors of the Devil's Temple, through an endless supply of grabbers who hug you to death, knife throwers, dwarves and snakes, with a boss guarding every staircase. Punch was quick, kick had reach, and the grabbers respected neither.
This was pocket-money arcade gaming without the pocket money, which was exactly the point for me. The C64 version got the rhythm right, and the walk up those five floors is burned into my muscle memory somewhere between Exploding Fist and IK+.
