Bruce Lee mixed platforming and fighting before that was a genre: run through the wizard's tower collecting lanterns, kick through walls, and deal with the two guards who never stop chasing you, the ninja with his stick and Yamo the big green sumo.
The stroke of genius was the two-player option where the second player takes control of Yamo. So my friend and I played it a lot, one of us sprinting for lanterns, the other one doing everything to body-slam him off a ladder. Stop moving for too long and the computer takes Yamo back, so there was no resting either. Being Yamo was arguably more fun than being Bruce ;)
