Rainbow Arts made the C64 platformer Nintendo did not want to exist: Giana and Maria dreaming their way through worlds that looked suspiciously like a certain plumber's, with Manfred Trenz on the code and Chris Huelsbeck delivering one of the best SID soundtracks ever written. The marketing line about the brothers being history did not exactly calm Nintendo's lawyers down.
It was withdrawn within weeks of release, which means the sales charts wildly undercount how much this game was actually played. Let me put it this way: everybody I knew had a copy, and none of us remembered buying one ;) A genuinely great platformer hiding under all the legal drama.
